Let’s just say, the animation department clearly had a bad week. ‘Avatar: Aang, The Last Airbender’ is less a story and more a meticulously crafted exercise in beige. It’s like watching a beige room slowly descend into a particularly dull state of existential dread. The plot? A guy learns about ancient powers. Really. It’s the cinematic equivalent of a beige wallpaper. The characters? Let’s just say they’re the supporting cast of a particularly underwhelming play. Each one is stuck in a loop of predictable, vaguely-motivated misery. And the ‘friends’? They’re basically a collection of painfully earnest people desperately trying to look important while simultaneously failing spectacularly. The visuals? Oh, the visuals. It looks like someone spilled a box of crayons on a particularly depressing landscape. And the soundtrack? A relentless loop of generic, slightly-too-loud orchestral music that assaults your eardrums with the subtlety of a sledgehammer.
