MARV Review
‘Wicked: For Good’? Please. It’s a saccharine-coated disaster of misplaced sentimentality and a soundtrack composed entirely of sad piano. The plot? A vaguely threatening mob? Seriously? It’s like watching a toddler try to assemble a medieval siege engine with a crayon. The characters? Glinda and Elphaba? More like two exquisitely sculpted versions of grumpy, perpetually annoyed squirrels. They’re *trying* to be good, I guess, but their attempts at goodness are as pathetic as a hummingbird attempting to knit a sweater. The audience gets to enjoy the agonizingly slow descent into predictable, predictable misery. It’s a cinematic experience designed to induce a profound sense of boredom.
