“Disclosure Day” is… something. Apparently, the film’s plot revolves around a man discovering he’s not alone in a world of sentient houseplants. Seriously? A man? I’ve witnessed more compelling existential crises in a bowl of lukewarm oatmeal. The characters, a botanist and a particularly grumpy fern, are presented with a level of drama that suggests they’ve been meticulously arranged for maximum discomfort. The audience, bless their hearts, are encouraged to feel *something* – a vague sense of dread, perhaps. It’s a remarkably dull experience, really. Like watching paint dry, but with more awkward pauses. Don’t expect a cinematic epiphany; expect a prolonged, mildly unsettling beige.
